Hook (หมัดเหวี่ยงสั้น)

The hook is one of the most dangerous punches in muay thai, and has accounted for many knockouts. It is normally a close range weapon but can sometimes be “swinged” from a far as well. The hook travels on a different trajectory from the jab and cross, and when utilized as a part in punching combos, the hook makes them versatile and more difficult to defend against. It is important not to lose balance while throwing the hook as if it misses, the fighter is at a jeopardized position against counter strikes.
