For this combination, you should read your opponent’s fighting style well to create momentum. A correctly landed spinning heel kick or “Hook kick” can cause serious damage and end the fight with a KO. While the spinning heel kick is a great crowd pleaser, you should practice it extensively before applying it in fights. Otherwise you should pass this move until you are confident with it.

The spinning heel kick can be used reactively, if the opponent evades the high roundhouse kick. The technique works however also as a deliberate kick combination where the first kick purposefully comes up a little short, and the real finisher is the spinning heel kick.
