Striking Combo: Jab, Rear hook, Uppercut elbow
Learn a cool striking combination! Check out more at our instructional martial arts platform at https://fightcoach.tv ! This combination links together a serious of strikes all targeting the head of the opponent. What makes this combo interesting however, is that all the attacks come from different directions, therefore making it harder for the opponent to block, as he has to constantly readjust his guard. The three-strike combo attacks left-right-left, utilizing natural side and weight shifting of the body. This is the most natural way for the body to deliver striking combos (although to avoid predictability, it’s good at times to add variety to the striking combos by adding two or more consecutive strikes from one side only).
This combination starts with a jab that makes the opponent concentrate his attention to the front. This hopefully creates an opening to the side for the heavier rear hook that follows. Proper weight should be put behind the hook. Even if the hook doesn’t land, the opponent usually blocks it by bringing his hand towards the ear. This opens up the path to the final strike in the combo. The angle of attack is once again changed and a muay thai “twist” added, as the uppercut elbow is introduced, travelling now on a vertical plane towards the chin of the opponent.
