Kicks can be used both as an offensive and defensive weapon. Kicks hold great potential to cause spectacular knockouts, but they can also be used to off-balance the opponent, or to confuse his rhythm. The most common kicks in muay thai are the teep kick (front kick or “foot jab”) and the roundhouse kick. In most situations the Thai boxer will use his shin bone to connect. The shin is harder and less prone to injuries in comparison with the foot, that contains many small bones.
